This week’s Woman of the Week #WOW is Anikah Ahmad! Anikah Ahmad is the principal lawyer and founder of ANA Law Professional Corporation. She studied political science at McMaster University and received her J.D. in Law at the University of Ottawa. During her time in law school, she has done incredible work for Pro Bono Students Canada, the Federal Economic Development Agency, and Law Help Ontario. As a strong leader and advocate for social justice she has frequently taken on many pro bono cases and volunteer positions to provide support to aspiring young lawyers! Before founding her law firm, she was a panel lawyer at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and now, she seeks to assist clients with her wit and skills. "Hard work never goes unrewarded. My father used to tell me this throughout law school, when I felt things were too difficult. He made me realize that thing always work out, even if it's not in the way you expected. Your hard work uncovers paths that you never knew were in front of you. This week’s Woman of the Week #WOW is Hannah Smith! Hannah is a current 5th year Rotman Commerce student specializing in management with a focus in marketing, strategy and innovation. She got involved in Rotman Commerce Women in Business (RCWIB) in her third year and currently serves as the group’s President. “I joined RCWIB as I was passionate about its mission and what it stood for. In the three years I’ve been a part of this organization, I’ve taken away so much. I’ve worked with incredible teams of women who’ve taught me how to be a better leader and the power of women sticking together and lifting each other up.” After graduation, Hannah looks forward to kicking off her career at Sun Life in their Business Leaders Rotational Leadership Development program. This week's Woman of the Week is Ariel Garten! Ariel is the co-founder of Interaxon, a companythat integrates brainwaves of an individual into technology. Her company introduced the Muse headband, which reads brainwaves of the wearer and can do things such as move objects, without the wearer having to lift a finger. This award-winning invention is just one of the many ways Ariel has left her mark for women everywhere. She has also made exhibitions at several art museums, such as the AGO and the Power Plant, and has even designed some clothing that integrates art and science together. Her dedication and exceptional work is sure to inspire us all.
