This weeks #WOW is Olivia Levy! Olivia is a fourth year Sociology specialist and anthropology minor. Olivia currently works for Enso Connect as the content manager, and spent her four years of undergrad as a researcher assisting in the writing of textbooks in the Department of Sociology. She spends her spare time training for and competing in long distance road races. All the time Olivia is asked what keeps her motivated to dedicate herself to running and fitness alongside school and work. Her motivation for all things stems from the same goal; always pushing herself to reach new limits, successes, and personal bests, in races, academics and be a role model to women and minorities aiming to pursue similar fields. Olivia’s tip for success is investing in all facets of yourself. An investment in your physical health is an investment in your mental health that can yield ample returns in productivity, self esteem, and new formed connections.

Our first Woman of the Week #WOW of #2020 is Deya Kannesha! She completed her accounting degree at York University, and currently works as a corporate business analyst. Despite the busy days that she has, she puts time aside to inspire over hundreds of girls to love their own skin through her South Asian fashion blog. She initially started her fashion page over four years ago because there were very few role models on social media that looked like her. Therefore, she created her own platform to encourage young women to learn how to embrace their culture and their skin tones. She hopes to continue to put out content that inspires at least one individual to live their best life and realize that their potential is limitless!

This week’s Woman of the Week #WOW is Tasmiyah Randeree!

She is a 4th year student at the University of Toronto, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English and History. On her time off from her studies, she allocates the rest of her time as an Editor at Her Campus UToronto, Senior Copy Editor at NAMUN’s The Emissary and is an Events Co-Director for the Orphan Sponsorship Program at UofT!

Recently, she was asked about what she stood for in life and she stated, “In a worldly sense, I stand for creativity. I stand for having a voice and telling stories. I stand for peace, both internally and for the masses.” Her future goal is to someday write a novel or two. She’s currently searching for a story she feels needs to be shared with the world, because she believes expression is an art and it’s one she hopes to master through words.

Lastly, her advice to you, is to own it! “Own your work, your skills, your talent! Own it all.” If you know any #WOWs in your life, send us a DM or post her on your stories with #WOW to get a possible feature on our blog and Instagram! #WomenSupportingWomen
